Nimble Storage Array 660x495

Nimble Storage – How to configure a device in 4 steps (Using the GUI Tool)

So the last time I used a Nimble Device, I had to configure it (quite easily) using the CLI first due to connectivity constraints at the customers site.

However here is how to configure a Nimble in 4 easy steps ready for production use.

So unbox, rack and cable up your Nimble device to the network, then;

1. Load the “Nimble Setup Manager” which can be downloaded from Nimbles website. Search for your Nimble on the Network (Obviously be in the same VLAN!).

– Click on your Array and then Next

2. Enter your basic network settings and click next.

4. Accept the EULA, and you are done, you can now connect to you Nimble and setup the Production side of things, which is basically the same as this article.

Cisco CCNP Training Course – Day 4 – ROUTE

Day 4 – Kind of, the course has mostly followed each of my post, however I have kind of mixed and match a few things so they flow better.

Also i’ve found out how to truncate my posts on the homepage, so it says, click here to read more, or something to that effect!

As you can imagine, something’s whilst labbing a few things, it can all get muddled.

Just one more quick note, I bought the revision materials from here https://www.ccnpguide.com

I’ve not had a change to look through them properly, but they are well set out and look like a fantastic quick revision guide with all the commands and tidbits of info you need for the exam.

So the topics that will be covered in this one are;

  • OSPF Summerization
  • OSPF Default Route
  • LSA/LSU Types
  • Special Areas (Stubby and Not-So-Stubby-Area)
  • OSPF Redistribution
  • Routing Protocol – Route Filtering
  • ACLs for route filtering
  • Route-Map for route filtering
  • Prefix-List for route filtering
  • Policy-Based Routing
  • IPv6
  • IPv6 with OSPFv3
  • IPv6 OSPFv3 Virtual-Link

Cisco CCNP Training Course – Day 3 – ROUTE

On to-day 3, most of you have probably noticed that I am posting these online a day behind when I actually take the class, which is helpful, as I spend the evening typing up my notes and building the topologies etc in Visio. It’s a good way to re-cap stuff.

So I cheated a bit on the last post as I stopped before OSPF, so we hit all the main points in one big go.

So heres a quick summary of what will be covered in this post;

  • OSPF
  • OSPF Timers
  • Packet Types
  • Hello Packet
  • OSPF Convergence
  • OSPF Convergence Troubleshooting
  • Router ID
  • OSPF Virtual-Link
  • OSPF Authentication
  • DR/BDR Concept
  • Point-to-Point Links
  • Broadcast Multi-Access Network
  • Non-Broadcast Multi-Access Network
  • Point-to-Multipoint
  • Point-to-Point Subinterface

Cisco CCNP Training Course – Day 2 – ROUTE

Cisco CCNP Training Course – Day 1 – ROUTE

Note: This is a dump from my notes of the day, I will write more posts on each subject for my training in the future and elaborate as I go on.

Just a quick late night post. Due to the changing of the CCNP exams from 31st January, its spurred me on to do something Exam wise, I’m self studying the CCNA Security, but after finding a cheap last-minute deal with the Knowledge Academy, I’ve booked myself on a 10 day CCNP course.

I don’t expect to be able to pass the exam’s at the end of the course, after all its essentially 3 Cisco Press books, once per exam (SWITCH, ROUTE, TSHOOT). And some training vendors offer this course for 15 days +. Therefore I expect to be catapulted into the CCNP curriculum allowing me to continue my deeper studies further and pass the exam.

Just before I booked this course, I also bought Chris Byrant’s video course on udemy.com (gave me free CCNA Security Videos too!), I’ve not watched the videos for the CCNP yet, but for the CCNA Security the website seems buggy!

What I learnt today – Start on CCNP Route
